How can CRCs and the faith sector work in
This was the question asked at the General Synod Penal Affairs
Group last weekend.
The group is considering how faith groups from all religions along
with other voluntary and community groups can work with CRCs to
help reduce reoffending.
Hosted by the Rt Reverend James Langstaff at York University the
session was attended by Avril Montgomery and Kelly Wilson from
SYCRC's Senior Leadership Team. Both found it an interesting and
engaging event as Avril explained:
"It was really positive to see how everyone can work together to
ensure offenders have the support they need to help them to move
away from offending behaviour.
"As a partnership we all need to consider how this can be best
implemented across South Yorkshire. We're looking forward to
working with the Penal Affairs Group and South Yorkshire Chaplains
to ensure this support is available across the county."
Further meetings are set to take place in August and we will of
course keep you up to date on future developments.
