South Yorkshire CRC's Community Payback team has been working
with McDonalds and Barnsley Council to improve the area around the
An area of land near the McDonalds restarurant was in desperate
need of some care and attention. It had become over grown and as
well as looking a mess there was a potential health and safety
concern with vermin making the shrubs a home.
Barnsley Metropolitan Council approached SYCRC to help with the
work and paid for the materials while McDonalds funded the hire of
six skips to clear the old debris from site.
In total the Community Payback team did over 196 hours of work
clearing the site and preparing it to be turfed and new seating
